Prom

The Class of 2017 will hold their prom at Venezia on Friday, May 19, 2017. All those attending the prom will travel to Boston via coach buses. Please plan to arrive at school around 4:00 PM for the red carpet processional. Buses will depart promptly at 5:00 PM. Students who miss the bus going to Boston will not be allowed to enter the prom. Students who do not take the bus from the venue back to school will not be allowed to participate in commencement exercises. The buses should arrive back in the school parking lot at approximately 11:30 PM. Transportation to and from the high school is the responsibility of parents. Please CLICK HERE for information about prom photo packages.

The Senior Prom is a school sponsored activity and students must not owe any discipline hours in order to be eligible to attend. Although this activity is held off campus, the same school rules prohibiting the use of alcoholic beverages and being under the influence or possession of any controlled substance, will be strictly enforced. As is the case with all school functions, administration will use breathalyzers as deemed necessary. Anyone found, in the opinion of administration, to be under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance will not be permitted to participate in commencement. Parents will be contacted and required to pick up their student at the prom. All prom guests who do not attend Silver Lake Regional High School must know they need to follow our school rules and to respect the safety of their dates. Please be advised that all of those attending will be searched prior to boarding the bus. There is no smoking allowed on the buses or at the prom. Social Hosting Presentations: In order for 11th and 12th grade students to purchase a ticket to the Junior or Senior prom, the parent or guardian of the student MUST have attended an informational session about social hosting laws. Parents will have an opportunity to meet this obligation on February 10th at 7:30 AM , March 13th at 7:00 PM, or March 22 at 8:30 AM at the high school. A copy of the letter detailing these presentations was emailed to parents in January and included in the information packet from Mr. Mulcahy.
